MR.
& MRS. BULUSAN, SORSOGON - MM SEARCH IS ON
After the successful Post-Valentine Dinner and Ballroom
Dance Party in Manila last February 22, Ms. Luz Z. Gamba, chair
of the Special Project Committee of Damayan-Buluseño, Inc.
announced that they are now in search of candidates for the Mr.
& Mrs. Bulusan, Sorsogon – Metro-Manila 2003 which will be
launched in May.
According to Ms. Gamba, to make it more glamorous and
classy, the coronation ceremonies will be held in one of the
prestigious hotels in Metro-Manila.
The occasion will be culmination of the yearly “Pista
sa Maynila” celebration of Buluseños in honor of their Patron
Saint, St. James the Greater, she added.
She hopes Buluseño couples would be encouraged to join
this contest as it is for a worthy cause.
Its proceeds will go to the various civic and
humanitarian projects in Bulusan. As it is widely known among Buluseños elsewhere and other
Sorsogueños, DBI has been actively involved in many
undertakings for the past years, she explained.
When the line-up is completed, the date and venue of the
presentation of candidates will be announced through this
Gazette.

CALLING
ALL JSRMI ALUMNI
Capt.
Luis F. Frayna, President of the Jose S. Reyes Memorial Institute
(formerly Bulusan Institute) Alumni Association, is calling all
its members and inviting them to a general meeting on Black
Saturday, April 19, 2003 at 9:00 a.m. at the Clubhouse of the
Villa Luisa Celeste Resort at Barangay Dancalan, Bulusan.
According to Capt. Frayna, the purpose of this meeting is
to discuss plans of the association for the welfare of its members
and their Alma Mater.
Capt. Frayna urges all members to come and share their
ideas on how to strengthen their association and be of help in
enhancing the service and image of the institution that gave them
the foundation of what they are today.
The JSRMI which was Bulusan Institute when it was
established in 1950, has produced thousands of graduates many of
whom are now successful in their chosen fields of endeavor here in
the country and abroad.
Capt. Frayna expects a big turnout in this meeting as many
Buluseños will be coming home for the Holy Week.
NO
BUSES FOR DAMAYAN HOMECOMING
Buluseños
who will be going home for the Holy Week are advised to commute or
travel on their own as no buses will be chartered by
Damayan-Buluseño, Inc for their trip this time.
This is because the Bulusan Central School Alumni
Homecoming & Damayan 2003 is deferred to year 2005 to give way
to school’s centennial celebration.
As
announced earlier, the civic action will be the only activity of
DBI Lenten Season
