Retired Maj. Gen. Cesar F. Fortuno appealed to his fellow Buluseños and other Filipinos to support the administration of those who won in the last presidential and local elections.  This was what he stated during the Pista sa Maynila celebration of Damayan-Buluseño, Inc. last July 11 at the Knights of Columbus Clubhouse where he was one of the speakers.

A staunched ally of former President Joseph E. Estrada and former NICA head, he supported movie actor Fernando Poe, Jr. in the latter’s presidential bid in the last elections.  But now that the elections are over and the people have decided, he calls on all our people to forget the bitterness of the political contest and unite so we can move for the progress of our country.

“As long as we are divided we will never prosper as a nation so let us join together and work for the economic recovery of our country.  Let us support the programs of the administration of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo,” the mild-mannered retired general added.

Likewise, he also exhorted all the Buluseños particularly those in the opposition camp to forget the bitterness in their hearts caused by the last elections but instead extend their full suport to the administration of reelected Mayor Juan G. Guysayko.
